Word to the Indie Talents

Saturday, November 5th, 2011

For a country that has produced so many incredibly talented music artists, it is safe to say that England is a huge contributor for the arts. It is, as a matter of fact, an important hub for the music industry.

That is why, among the services of PR firms in London, the most people that solicit their services are up and coming music artists. As an executive in a PR firms, I enjoy listening to these raw talents. There are just so many unsigned talents out there. With all the junk in the air waves these days, you would really wish these little known artists are appreciated more. If only I could sign all of them, but I am still running a business here. I have to go to what is marketable.

So, to all you independent talents, do not quit on your dreams. Keep sending firms and producers your demos. You will get there!

Mini Backpack with Church Logo

Wednesday, September 14th, 2011

I was trying to find something to give to each of the kids in the Sunday school class that were going on the group mission trip. I found this Mini Backpack that I could have the name of the church printed on to. I thought that it would be a great thing for them to use when we were making our way through the many airports that we are going to be going through. We have many different places to go and I think that these Mini Backpacks could make it a bit easier for all of us. I would be able to locate the kids easier in the airport if they were all wearing the bag and they could keep their boarding passes in them so they could easily access them without losing them. It is going to be a wonderful trip and I think that the kids are really going to like the Mini Backpacks.

Is TV Advertising Tricky?

Tuesday, August 2nd, 2011

TV advertising can be a tricky game if you don’t know what you are doing. I’m well known in my area and thought getting in front of the camera for my TV commercial would be a great idea. Boy was I wrong! I learned this the hard way. Most people knew me from one on one conversation and relationships that we had built over the years. These relationships were not built by me “selling” to them or pitching a product – which is exactly what I was doing on my TV advertising. This not only hurt my credibility with my existing clientele, it hurt business with new customers – the moment people saw me they would joke about “what are you going to sell me”, which is not at all in my personality. I changed our TV advertising up to have a voice over and graphic work do the selling. That worked much better, and was cheaper to produce. Be careful with your TV advertising.
