I think so, depending on where you live. Actually, I doubt it matters where you live. If you have a personal alarm, you might feel a measure of safety whether you are on a country road or the city streets. I know that my daughter carries around a couple of different personal alarms, but with her work she’s often out at night and the fact that she has them gives her a measure of comfort. I don’t go out at night so much anymore, beyond just around the neighborhood. I like that I don’t feel scared around here, except for of dogs. Not that there have been any running around loose, but it’s just the thought of them. I think I would carry an alarm just for that, and hope people came running even if they could see that I was just scared of a dog that was in front of me.

Are Personal Alarms Good to Have?
Saturday, April 23rd, 2011New Door Handles Could Make the Difference
Tuesday, March 8th, 2011We recently put our house on the market and after the first five couples walked the house, the feedback we received was discouraging. People said that the home looked dated. Our realtor suggested that we replace some of the hardware in the house, like door handles and knobs. We started in the kitchen and replaced all the old handles with a fresh look. I couldn’t begin tell you what an improvement it was. After we polished all the cabinets, the cupboards and drawers looked brand new. We were so thrilled about the low budget solution that we decided to replace the handles all over the rest of the house. We shopped online for what we wanted and soon every room had a more modern appearance. The very next person that came into our home made an offer. It could be coincidence, but I don’t think so. The door handles really did make a huge difference. The house is now sold and we are living in our new home.
"Lock Bumping" – a Lock's Worst Nightmare
Friday, January 21st, 2011There’s a new term swarming the Internet lately. It’s called lock bumping. This is a process in which you modify a key, put it into a conventional key hole (i.e, the front door of your home), take a small hammer or object, and give it a few good taps. The results are shocking: with the modified key, you can actually break the internal lock and literally break in to just about any home. Since this news became widespread, there have been some reinforcements to certain brand-name locks.
An article read that a news channel that was reporting this information was receiving many calls from viewers who were concerned that they were revealing to criminals how to break into homes! What the news didn’t tell the viewers is how the key had to be modified into a bump key.
It’s only a matter of time when viewers will simply seek out how to make bump keys online. Yeah, the news wasn’t much help after all.

Very Spirited Discussions About Safes
Thursday, October 14th, 2010Now we’re at a point with our products, where in we’re feeling kind of safe (pun intended), but the thing is, is that we can’t really just intend to do this forever; we have to find a way to get these other things to flow just right, and without those other points, we really won’t be able to do that. But in the end, if the Safes actually measure up to what we thought they’d do, then we will go with that brand. But ultimately, we are talking about a particular kind of approach to security which may or may not actually jive with what’s currently established to be “best practice.” There in lies the rub of it all, as they say, and there will be conflicts; there will be spirited debates about whether or not a kind of safe should rest at the heart of the business’s operations that way that it does.
Letter Cage Gifts And Other Ideas
Friday, August 13th, 2010Buying a letter cage for a friend, for his birthday, can prove an awfully thoughtful thing to do. For example, the friend could simply be allowing his mail to slip through the mail slot of his front door, and that’s what he does; that’s what he uses. On more than one occasion, you might have found that your buddy’s worked himself up to an angry fit, really, and over what? Over his soggy muddy mail, mail he’d stepped all over after he’d just gotten a shoe into the foyer, in from the treacherous downpour outside. So, in such a situation, a letter cage would be quite useful, quite thoughtful, and do a lot of good to and for your friend. A letter is more than a sentimental vehicle, it’s also a thing to collect; you could consider quite possibly starting up the first official library of letter cages and other sort of office supplies.
