Running a business that allows the employees access to the internet can be a bit frightening. Since the employees have access to a computer and the internet, I never truly know what to expect from them. It seems as if they can ruin my computer if they go to some malicious website. This is the reason why I invested in an internet content filter. I feel like this is something that is good for me to do to protect my assets in general. Computers are expensive to replace, and our information about the company is also precious. Having the filter will allow me the peace of mind, and it will keep me from watching m employees like a hawk. I like them, but I still do not trust them to constantly do the right things. It is better if I install something that will give me constant protection from property damage.

He looked at me like I was speaking a foreign language. He obviously did not understand the benefits of this service, and I assume now there are many who are unfamiliar with either this term or this concept. So let me explain.
Everyone knows how the typical personal computer works. In your desktop or your laptop you have “programs” that make it work and do things you want it to. You then “work” within those programs and store data within them. Unless it comes from the manufacturer with the software, anything in that computer is added by you. It is true that most computers now allow you, over the internet, to access outside programs and databases, but even that requires programming on your personal computer. If anything needs to be done to your computer you have to do it. If anything needs to provided to other offices or other employs, you have to do it. How desktop as a service benefits us is that all the key programming and data that our employees need to use individually or collectively is housed, maintained, and upgraded at our home office. Our people just need an internet connection to plug into our system. They literally can be anywhere in the world and have the access to the latest and best programming and data – just as if they were at the home office.
