Glen had wanted to quit his job at CA Honda Dealership, but he resisted the urge. He wished he had not taken it in the first place, for two reasons. The first was that he had no idea his boss was so partial to other employees, and secondly, he hadn’t realized how dreary the location of the showroom was- it inspired negative emotions that did nothing for his confidence. He was on the verge of handing in his resignation, but then, an unlikely thing prevented him from doing so: his seven year old son. He had come back home from work one day, and was sitting to eat, when his son came into the dining room and asked him very honestly if his father could buy him a new fire truck toy. The truth was, Glen couldn’t set aside any money for extra expenses at the moment, and this thought made him decide to continue in his job, so that he could save up enough to buy his son a new toy!

Even though I would act like I was mad, I secretly thought it was a great idea. So much that when I was in high school I joined the debate team and won many awards. When I went to college, I studied Criminal Justice and decided to go to law school. As you can imagine, my parents were not surprised at my choice for a career. While in law school, I got an internship with a criminal defense lawyer Ft Lauderdale had near my school and absolutely loved it. The attorney taught me things my college did not from a practical hand on approach. He even let me go to court with him and watch him representing defendants in criminal cases. After law school, the same lawyer hired me to work for his criminal defense firm because of my internship.

Thursday, October 6th, 2011Trying to contain my excitement while in a New Britain Jeep Dealer in Connecticut one day about the great deals the company are offering to car buyers, I was asking the sales person in charge of showing walk in customers around what other options were there for me to be able to avail of a much better discount deal on a particular car model I was setting my sights on the first time I saw the company’s paid advertisement over the local newspaper, when I happened to be referred to the sales person’s supervisor as according to him, what I had in mind was actually possible but I had to elevate the matter to his supervisor. It turned out that the supervisor I was referred to was a long lost childhood friend of mine whose name I have already forgotten, but whose facial features I somehow recognized. Needless to say, I did get a nicer deal because of this.

Thursday, August 11th, 2011Garmin have a new iPhone app called the StreetPilot. This name reminds me of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) all that way back in 1998 when the company released one of their first ever GPS devices – which was called… StreetPilot! Things have come on leaps and bounds since then and I’ve just read an online Garmin iPhone App Review about this download and must admit to being pretty impressed.
It has a very similar user interface to the physical Garmin Nuvi devices including a simple menu and map interface. These let you access Garmin-style turn-by-turn directions – plus the usual with text-to-speech spoken street names. One of the best aspects is the way the lane assist works – I absolutely love the Garmin iPhone app and have now started to use instead of the Nuvi GPS I also own.
So from today I only need to travel with my iPhone and the on-board Garmin navigation software – a perfect scenario for my very busy schedule!

I had driven my friend’s Fusion and felt that it was the right style of vehicle for me. It was easy to handle and I liked all of the extra room that it provides. I’ve been using the same mechanic since I moved here and recently he moved to be closer to his parents. As I haven’t started the search for a new one, I would prefer a mechanic at the dealership work on my car. I want the job done right the first time. I can’t afford for them to screw up as repairs cost enough the first time around. I don’t want to pay a second time. I can trust the mechanics at the dealership more than an independent shop.
My husband and I are supposed to visit some of the local Car Dealerships this weekend to see about getting me a new car. I really don’t know why I have to go along. My husband never takes my opinion into consideration. He just picks out what he thinks is a good car and then I am expected to drive it.
