Britney Spears is set to appear in a reality show of MTV documentary which will feature her past chaotic life and how she started to rise again.  But Britney Spears’ dad was furious about the thought of it.

“Britney’s dad is furious, he thinks it’s a big mistake and doesn’t want anything to do with it, but Britney thinks it will help her custody battle for her two sons,” The Daily Star quoted a source, as saying.

“This could turn out to be the biggest car crash television moment of all time,” a pal of the popstar said.

We remembered how hard last year was for Britney, from her child custody failure cases, rehab stints, those controversial issues around her, will she be able to resurrect her career? But she was nominated for 3 MTV Video Music Awards, “including the coveted Video of the Year prize.

Carrie Melago in the New York Daily News said “Her sloppy, lip-synched performance” of “Gimme More” at least year’s VMAs “was universally panned and ushered in a year of lousy luck.” If she gets the chance to perform at the awards show this year, it would offer her a much-needed “chance at redemption.”

“MTV would have to be crazy” not to put Spears on stage, said Alan Fein in AXcess News. Her “popularity is still strong,” and even if she blows a performance again this year, MTV still comes out on top: “To advertisers, a bomb can sometimes be worth more than a win.”

Britney Spears has really turned over a new leaf, as seen from the serious way she is dealing with her new album, which she has said to be one of her best works ever.

Spears revealed that her new album will have an ‘urban’ sound and that she has been spending a lot of her time at the studio where she is recording it.

Working with her is British R&B producer Taio Cruz, who is reportedly collaborating with her on her sixth studio album, and who had said earlier that the record will be huge. The Toxic singer also revealed that the album will include a musical tribute to her two young sons Sean Preston and Jayden James. And she has written the new track to thank the tots for inspiring her to get her life and career back on track.

“I actually wrote a song for my new album called My Baby. It’s a real beautiful song,” she told OK! magazine.

Despite the fact that she totally flopped last year, Britney Spears may get to perform at MTV’s Video Music Awards again this year.

“Piece of Me” was nominated the following VMA categories: video of the year, best female video and best pop video.

If Britney does get to perform, I expect that she’ll do much better. I mean she isn’t hopped up on Sam Lutfi’s pills and going through a nervous break down again this year.

The VMA’s should give Britney one more chance. We all have our crazy moments!!

A year after her calamitous comeback performance at the MTV Video Music Awards, Britney Spears has garnered a third nomination for this year’s show, but it remained unclear whether she would dare a repeat appearance.

MTV, which has been rolling out nominations for various categories in recent weeks, named Spears on Friday as one of five candidates in the running for its coveted Video of the Year award, for the clip to her single “Piece of Me.”

The same title already has earned her nominations for best female video and best pop video.

In the category for Video of the Year, she is competing against the Jonas Brothers’ “Burnin Up,” Chris Brown’s “Forever,” Pussycat Dolls “When I Grow Up” and the Ting Tings’ “Shut Up and Let Me Go.”

Is Britney Spears feeling some pressure to perform at MTV’s upcoming Video Music Awards?

Well, the gal definitely has good reason to take to the stage. She’s just nabbed a third VMA nomination for Video of the Year for “Piece of Me.”

She and Chris Brown lead the VMA noms with three apiece. (Brown must have the magic touch because he’s also featured on Jordin Sparks’ twice-nominated “No Air.”)

Other nominees for Video of the Year include Jonas Brothers (“Burnin’ Up”), Chris Brown (”Forever”), Pussycat Dolls (”When I Grow Up”) and The Ting Tings (“Shut Up and Let Me Go”).

Troubled pop star Britney Spears, who is making an impressive comeback professionally, has got herself a new look and she might have found a new man in her life too.

Spears has got her hair done in a crinkled, more feminine look and was seen holidaying in Mexico with hotelier George Maloof. She was spotted relaxing near the poolside with the multi-millionaire at their hotel in Cabo San Lucas, thesun.co.uk reports.

The singer had recently appeared on an MTV Video Music Awards promotional video along with comedian Russell Brand.

Britney Spears says she is a “cleaning fanatic”. The ‘Toxic’ singer - who has sons two-year-old Sean Preston and Jayden James, 23 months, with her ex-husband Kevin Federline - confessed she loves doing housework and particularly enjoys cleaning windows and making dinner.
